Zip Code Lookup The Federal and state governments have changed the method of distributing sales-tax receipts to cities and towns. This "Sales Tax Streaming Law" went into effect July 1, 2008. The Town of Hunts Point now receives 1% of the 9% sales-tax collected on the sale of taxable goods and services that are delivered to the home. This is not an additional tax; it is a redistribution of sales tax from the shipping city to the receiving city. This new law applies to all purchases delivered to the home, except automobiles and boats. If everyone uses their ZIP+4, the increased sales-tax revenue can eventually cover about 25% of the Town's expenses. To make sure that the Town of Hunts Points receives its share of the sales taxes residents are already paying, we ask that everyone use their "ZIP+4", which is your regular zip code plus a four-digit extension. The four-digit extension is determined by your address. The Town recently sent all residents a letter informing them of the ZIP+4 for their address. If you did not receive that letter or cannot find it for some reason, the US Postal Service has a ZIP+4 Lookup feature on their website. Click here to use this feature. HOW TO CONTACT US:
