FORM OF GOVERNMENT
The Town of Hunts Point uses a mayor-council form of government to enact
ordinances that set forth the rules and regulations governing conduct within the
Town. The Mayor and members of the Council are volunteers elected by
citizens of the Town. Council meetings are held on the first Monday of
each month.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
The Town contracts for police services with the
City of Medina and
for fire-protection services with the City of Bellevue.
TOWN SERVICES AND OFFICE HOURS
The Town of Hunts Point has a Town Hall located very near the entrance to the
town. Town Hall office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8am to noon
and 1pm to 5pm. The Building Department is open for permit intakes on
Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Meetings of the Town Council and
Planning Commission are held on
regular dates each month
and are open to the public. Hearings with the
Hearing Examiner and
meetings of the Park Commission are
held on an as-needed basis. The Town employs a full-time Town
Administrator and three part-time clerks who handle the day-to-day operations of
the Town.
Town Administrator Jack McKenzie handles all issues before the Town Council,
answers questions about general Town business, manages all financial
reporting, and is the person you will likely speak with when you call the Town's

Deputy Clerk Sue Israel handles all aspects of the Building Department,
including permits and variances. She can be reached by email at

Deputy Clerk Linda Longmire handles all issues before the Planning

Deputy Clerk Sue Ann Spens handles all financial records and
reporting, maintains the Town's website, and works on special projects, as

The Town contracts with:
- Building Technology for building-official,
inspection, and code-enforcement services,
- Mona Green for planning services, including Zoning Code issues,
pre-application and pre-construction meetings, and shorelines permits, and
- Joe Willis for engineering services.
The following utility services are provided to residents under franchise agreements
with the following:
- The City of Bellevue Water/Sewer District provides water and sewer services.
- Qwest Communications provides traditional telephone service.
- Allied Waste collects garbage, yard waste, and recyclable waste.
- Puget Sound Energy provides electricity and natural gas.
- Comcast offers Cable TV and high-speed internet connections.
- Other utilities provide services to residents, e.g. wireless
communications, are provided without a franchise agreement but are too numerous to list
here.
PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The Town of Hunts Point is part of Bellevue School District No. 405 and
is served primarily by Medina Elementary, Chinook Middle School, and Bellevue

The Town of Hunts Point distributes periodic newsletters to residents with
information about actions taken by and future meetings of the Town Council,
Planning Commission, and Park Commission and general announcements and
information about important local and regional issues.
